Roots & Branches: A Sukkot Singles Camping Retreat

September 24–27, 2025  ·  Ray Roberts Isle Du Bois Texas State Park, Texas  ·  Early Bird from $275

There is something holy about sleeping under the open sky. About waking up to birdsong instead of an alarm. About sitting around a fire with people who love God and letting the noise of everyday life fade into the trees. Roots & Branches is an invitation to do exactly that — to step outside, dwell in the wild, and celebrate the ancient feast of Sukkot the way it was always meant to be celebrated: outside, together, and in awe of God's creation.

This four-day Christian singles camping retreat honors the biblical Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) — a season of joy, gratitude, and dwelling in God's presence. For Christian singles ages 25–50, this is your weekend to unplug, reconnect with your faith, build meaningful friendships, and experience the joy of community in one of Texas's most beautiful state parks.

A Weekend of Faith & Fellowship

This is not just a camping trip — it is a celebration. Each day is intentionally shaped around worship, prayer, and gathering in God's presence. We will hold morning worship services, prayer gatherings, and church services throughout each day. On Friday evening, we gather for a special Sukkot celebration service — honoring the Feast of Tabernacles as the sun goes down over the water. Every meal, every hike, every moment around the campfire is an opportunity to grow closer to God and to one another.

Activities

  • Group Fishing Day (Friday): We head out together, cast our lines, and whatever we catch — we cook together. There's a fish cleaning station on-site, and our freshly caught lunch is one of the weekend's most anticipated moments. No fishing license required at Texas State Parks!
  • Hiking: Explore the trails of Ray Roberts Isle Du Bois at your own pace or with the group
  • Campfire Nights: Stories, s'mores, laughter, and looking up at the stars
  • Swimming: Weather and conditions permitting in September
  • Daily Worship & Services: Morning and evening services woven into each day

Communal hot-water showers and restrooms are located nearby (note: showers and restrooms are communal facilities, not at the individual campsites).

We will have separate men's and women's campsites. During the day, everyone comes together for meals, activities, services, and fellowship. At night, men and women return to their respective sections. Curfew is 10:00 PM each evening.

Arrival, Parking & Rides

  • Check-in Deadline: All guests must be checked in by 5:00 PM on Thursday, September 24. We must notify the state park of our full group by this time.
  • Parking: A very limited number of parking spots are available as an optional add-on for $25 — first come, first served at registration. If you plan to bring a vehicle, add your spot early as they will go fast.
  • Ride Service: We are offering pickup rides for guests who are not driving. Pickup will be available from two designated locations — details will be announced as we get closer to the event. Pickups begin at 3:00 PM on Thursday. Guests using the ride service must be at their pickup location and ready to go at that time so that everyone arrives before the 5:00 PM check-in deadline.
  • Late Arrivals: If you expect to arrive after 5:00 PM for any reason, you must contact us before 5:00 PM so we can communicate with the park on your behalf. Failure to notify us may affect your ability to check in.
🌿 Outdoor Event Notice: This retreat takes place entirely outdoors at a Texas state park. Guests should be prepared to be on grass, in nature, and exposed to outdoor conditions including heat, insects, and variable weather throughout the weekend. Please prepare and dress accordingly.
